Given the following mRNA, write the double-stranded DNA segment that served as the template. Indicate both the 5′ and the 3′ ends of both DNA strands. Also write out the tRNA anticodons and the amino acid sequence of the protein encoded by the mRNA message. DNA: mRNA: 5′-CCGCAUGUUCAGUGGGCGUAAACACUGA-3′ protein: tRNA:

Summary Introduction

To determine: The sequence of DNA, tRNA anticodons, and amino acid from the given sequence of mRNA.

Introduction: mRNA is synthesized from DNA by base pairing adenine, uracil, guanine, cytosine to their complementary bases in a process called transcription. tRNA, and rRNA helps in production of amino acids from mRNA in a process called translation. The chain of amino acids produced during translation process can be polypeptide, or a functional protein.

Explanation of Solution

The given mRNA sequence is as follows:

5’-CCGCAUGUUCAGUGGGCGUAAACACUGA-3’

The DNA sequence will have complementary base pair from 3’ to 5’:

3’-GGCGTACAAGTCACCCGCATTTGTGACT-5’

The mRNA sequence is divided into codon (3 base units) that codes for amino acid:

mRNA: 5’-CCG|CAU|GUU|CAG|UGG|GCG|UAA|ACA|CUG|A-3’

In the above mRNA sequence, UAA is a stop codon. After this codon transcription of mRNA into amino acid will not takes place...
