The report “Raising Kids and Running a Household: How Working Parents Share the Load” (November 4, 2015, Pew Research Center, pewresearch.org, retrieved December 12, 2016) described a survey of parents of children under the age of 18. Each person in a representative sample of 825 working fathers and a sample of 586 working mothers was asked if (balancing the responsibilities of a job and a family was difficult. It was reported that 429 (52%) of the fathers surveyed and 352 (60%) of the mothers surveyed said that it was difficult.
