Introduction:
The respiratory system is an organ system that rhythmically inhales and exhales air from the body. Normal breathing is centrally controlled by the brainstem and this breathing involves inhalation and exhalation. Abnormal breathing occurs because of variations in the respiratory rhythm. Some of the abnormal breathing types include eupnea, hypoventilation, Kussmaul respiration, and tachypnea.
