Introduction:
Pulmonary ventilation is also called as breathing is a process of movement of air into and out of the lungs. This movement involves the transport and exchange of oxygen (O2) and carbon dioxide into and out of the lungs. Gas exchange is a process where gases are exchanged by diffusion between the pulmonary capillary blood and the alveoli of the lung. Ventilation is the transport of air, which reaches the alveoli of the lungs. The term perfusion is the blood that reaches the alveoli through the capillaries.
