Among the two reactions, the electrocyclic reaction which occurs readily by a concerted mechanism is to be stated.
Concept introduction:
Electronic configuration tells about the arrangement of the electrons in each subshell and each orbit of an atom. The distribution of the electrons in the molecules is described by the molecular orbital theory. The higher occupied molecular orbital is termed as HOMO and lower unoccupied molecular orbital is termed as LUMO.
In disrotatory cyclization, the end group atomic orbital rotates in a clockwise direction.
