Interpretation:
The types of interactions exist between the nonactin molecule and the bound ammonium ion is to be stated. These interactions are to be compared with the interactions that exist between nonactin and the bound potassium ion.
Concept introduction:
There are three types of interactions through which the dissolved ion is stabilized in a solution. They are hydrogen-bonding interactions, the charge-dipole interactions and the donor-interactions.
Nonactin is a compound that belongs to a family of antibiotics. It has the capability to form complex with sodium or potassium ion. For the potassium ion, it has a strong affinity.
