Introduction:
Cofactor is a nonproteincomponent of many enzymes. It binds firmly or loosely with the enzymes. A cofactor that is firmly bound to anenzyme is known as a prosthetic group. The prosthetic group involves atoms such as iron or copper. A loosely bound cofactor is known as coenzyme. Coenzymes can change their conformation during reactions.
