Summary Introduction
To review:
The structure of the intermediatethatis formed during the conversion of dihydroxyacetone phosphate to glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate.
Introduction:
Dihydroxyacetone phosphate (DHAP) and glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate (G-3-P) are the structures formed during the conversion of a glucose molecule to pyruvate by the process of glycolysis. The conversion of DHAP to G-3-P is catalyzed by the enzyme triose phosphate isomerase (TPI). This conversion is reversible in nature.
