Although Bohr’s model was highly applicable to the hydrogen atom, it could not be applied to atoms other than hydrogen which consisted of multi-electrons. As Broglie and Schrödinger later suggested that as light was found to exist as either a particle or a wave, the electron could also exist as either one of them. Hence by considering the two states by which an electron could exist, Schrödinger analysed mathematically and concluded that electrons moved in orbitals and not in circular orbits as Bohr suggested...
