| Shenandoah River, c.150 mi/241 km long, Va.; rises in 2 forks on either side of Massanutten Ridge. The North Fork rises in Rockingham co. W of Massanutten; flows through Timberville and Strasburg; South fork rises in Augusta co. as the union of the North, Middle, and South rivers and flows through Elkton and Shenandoah. The two branches unite near Front Royal, then flow NE to enter the Potomac R. at Harpers Ferry, W. Va. |
