Dadeville (DAID-vil), town (1990 pop. 3,276), Tallapoosa co., E Ala., 13 mi/21 km SE of Alexander City, near L. Martin, in timber and agr. area. Inc. 1837. Textiles, plastics. State monument, 10 mi/16 km, at Horseshoe Bend (in Tallapoosa R.), marks site of battle in which Andrew Jackson defeated Creek Indians (March, 1814).
